Vince Scully, Baseball’s Best Announcer, Will Return In 2009

Baseball is best broadcast on radio, and no one is better at it than Vince Scully.

So it came as good news when Scully and the Los Angeles Dodgers announced the legendary announcer will return for his 60th season next year.

Scully, 80, will announce all of the Dodgers’ home games in 2009 and he will also broadcast the team’s away games as far as Denver.

“When you’re on the road as much as we are, it’s the loneliness of your wife you consider,” Scully told MLB.com. “But she said, ‘It’s been a part of your life so long, you might as well do it, if you want to do it. And I still enjoy it. I still feel like I’m happy to be here.”
